Escort cards tell each guest where to sit. They are usually set out alphabetically on a table at the entrance, and guests pick up their own card. seatings makes one card per guest, sorted by last name, several to a sheet.

Main options
- Size: 89×51 mm or 3.5×2 in by default, flat or folded.
- Table shown as: "Table 4" in small capitals under the name, or a Big 4 that is easy to read from a distance.
- Meal choice: show each guest's meal as words, an icon, a color dot or a letter, so waiters know who gets what. See Meals on escort and place cards.
Advanced
- Back of the card (folded cards): blank, the same as the front, or your monogram.
- Card color: the same for all, tinted by meal, or tinted by table, like colored card stock.
- Names: first name first, or last name first with or without a comma.
- Text size, the word for "Table" and the word for an unnamed plus-one.
Escort cards or place cards? Escort cards only say which table. Place cards sit on the table and mark the exact seat. Many couples use both, or only escort cards with open seating at each table.
