Printing at home
- Download the Home printer version.
- Open the PDF and choose Print.
- Set the scale to Actual size or 100%. Do not use "Fit to page" or "Shrink to fit", or cards come out smaller than they should.
- Choose your paper type in the printer settings (card stock, matte).
- Print one test page first and check it against a ruler.
Paper
| Piece | Paper |
|---|---|
| Escort and place cards | Card stock, 200 to 300 g/m² (80 to 110 lb cover) |
| Table numbers | Card stock, 250 to 350 g/m², or plain paper in a frame |
| Menus | 160 to 250 g/m² paper or card |
| Seating chart, welcome sign | Usually too big for home printers. Send these to a print shop. |
Check the thickest paper your printer can feed in its manual. Most home printers handle 200 to 250 g/m² through the rear tray.
Printing at a print shop
- Download the Print shop version, which has bleed.
- Tell the shop the finished size (it is shown under the piece's name and in the file name) and the paper or board you want.
- Ask for a proof if you are printing many copies.
Popular choices for the seating chart and welcome sign: matte poster paper for an easel, foam board, or an acrylic panel. Online print services accept the same PDFs.
After printing, see Cutting and folding cards.
